Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News/File</div>MANILA – The Catholic Church will lead a mobilization protest on November 23, coinciding with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Christ the King, the final Sunday of the Church’s liturgical calendar.Fr. Robert Reyes, convener of the Clergy for Good Governance, said priests have been mandated to celebrate Masses in honor of Christ the King, integrating current societal and political issues into the theme.The gathering will take place at the EDSA Shrine, beginning with a short procession at 2 p.m., followed by a Mass led by Cardinal Pablo Virgilio David at 4 p.m. Other dioceses have also been advised to hold similar activities.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/5/cardinal-david-urges-erring-officials-to-admit-mistakes-calls-for-orderly-fight-vs-corruption-1822">READ: Cardinal David urges erring officials to admit mistakes; calls for orderly fight vs corruption</a></div>“Hindi po ito simpleng pagdiriwang – kontekstuwal, situational, real,” Reyes told reporters in a media briefing Wednesday.(This is not a simple celebration – it is contextual, situational, real.)The November 23 mobilization is part of the build-up toward the November 30 Trillion Peso March Movement at the People Power Monument.Akbayan party-list President Rafaela David said around 200 groups have already signed up to participate in the November 30 event, with organizers aiming to gather at least half a million people and fill EDSA.“End corruption, end political dynasties. Kita po natin na ang ugat ng korapsyon ay ang pulitika ay nasa kamay ng iilang political families. At nakakalungkot kasi ’yong ating government ay nagiging platform for their political drama. To those using this crisis for gain, we pray for your enlightenment,” he added.
