Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — The Quezon City government on Thursday announced that La Loma, known as the lechon capital of Metro Manila, is now free from African swine flu (ASF).</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/14/qc-lgu-orders-temporary-closure-of-lechon-shops-in-la-loma-due-to-asf-1751">QC LGU orders temporary closure of lechon shops in La Loma due to ASF</a></div><p>The QC LGU said that after they ordered the temporary closure of 14 lechon or roasted pig shops in La Loma affected by ASF, the establishments carried out daily disinfection in their facilities for a week, with the aid of City Veterinary Department and QC Health Department.</p><p>&quot;Bukod sa disinfection, inatasan ang 14 na establishments na sumunod sa kinakailangang sanitary, safety at health protocols,&quot; the LGU said.</p><p>As of now, 3 establishments were given lifting orders and are now allowed to operate again after complying with City Health Department at City Veterinary Department regulations.</p><p>&quot;Patuloy na tutulong ang lokal na pamahalaan sa mga negosyante upang matiyak na ang lahat sa kanila ay makasunod sa mga protocol at mapanatiling de-kalidad ang mga produktong nagmumula sa La Loma,&quot; the LGU said.</p><p>Lechon shop owners earlier said the closure order came at such a critical time when there are several Christmas parties where lechon was typically a staple.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/nEZY4Ll5tHY?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
