Robin Padilla — chair and president of PDP Laban — endorse the party’s #Halalan2025 senatorial candidates. <em>Victoria Tulad, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Malacanang on Friday declined to comment on the latest tirades of former President Rodrigo Duterte against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.</p><p>“No comment here,” Presidential Communications Secretary Cesar Chavez told Palace reporters.</p><p>During the PDP-Laban’s proclamation rally of its Senate slate on Thursday, Duterte criticized the current government for “[falling] short of the expectations&quot; but said he would not claim things were better when he was president. </p><p>&quot;I can even concede na ganoon ang nangyari pero it would not be a good reason for you to solve the problem just because you’re doing right, more rights than the wrong ones that the other guy had committed in the past,&quot; he said. </p><p>Duterte, chair of PDP-Laban, said he was sure that the Filipino people have lost their patience with government for &quot;either failed promises or whatever&quot;, which he said was a good thing for the candidates he is backing.</p><p>During the 2022 presidential campaign, Marcos promised to bring down rice prices. </p><p>He and his running mate, then Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, also promised unity in government. Their alliance has since crumbled. </p><p>Without offering proof, Duterte on Thursday again accused Marcos of using illegal drugs. </p><p>He also suggested that some current senators should be killed off to favor PDP-Laban candidates.</p><p>&quot;Panalo kayong lahat (You will all win),” Dutetre told the PDP-Laban aspirants.</p><p>Duterte&#x27;s party is fielding the following candidates for senator in the May midterm elections:</p><ul><li>Sen.
