MANILA — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday endorsed a barrage of criminal complaints against the 10 police officers who allegedly served a fake warrant of arrest and robbed a woman's house in Taguig City.

The incident took place last Sunday and was caught on CCTV.

The footage showed the cops entering the victim's house as they told the family they would be serving a warrant of arrest related to drugs.

The victim's child, a minor, was allegedly hurt while helping her mother resist the cops. The officers succeeded in taking the mother and her daughter in their police vehicle — telling them they were going to the barangay office.

But when the vehicle did not stop when it passed by the barangay hall, the victim decided to jump from the mobile, followed by her daughter who sustained an injury.

Witnesses also took videos of the incident, which went viral.

Police B.Gen. Anthony Aberin, the acting regional director of NCRPO, ordered the dismissal of the 10 cops from their respective posts.

In cooperation with witnesses and the complainants who reported three cellphones missing from their store along with P50,000 cash, Taguig City Police submitted to the Taguig prosecutor's office complaints of Robbery, Grave Coercion, Physical Injury, Obstruction of Justice, Malicious Mischief, RA 7610, Unlawful Arrest, and Violation of Domicile against each of the 10.

The complaints are "based on their individual illegal actions committed and degree of participation in the illegitimate operation", the NCRPO said in a statement.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) will evaluate the complaints for filing in court if warranted.

The NCRPO, however, assured the public that the cases they forwarded through Taguig City Police are "airtight", saying they are based on "the pieces of evidence uncovered during the investigation, with the sole intention of ensuring that justice will be served to the victims."

The involved officers will also be subject to an administrative investigation.

"If substantial evidence is found that transgressions against PNP rules were committed, concerned police officers will be dismissed, demoted or suspended, depending on the degree of their participation of the illegal act," Aberin stated.

He said that NCRPO leadership has warned police personnel to follow protocol and to do their jobs correctly.

“Any violation of law will not be tolerated and those who violate will face the full force of the law," he added.
