The Commission on Elections ( Comelec ) regional office in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) issued a notice of removal to 66 senatorial candidates for violating guidelines on proper posting of their campaign materials.

“Sa CAR, lahat ng senators nabigyan ng notice. Lahat sila nakatanggap ng Notices. In fairness, pag nakatanggap sila ng sulat, tinatanggal nila. Sa bandang Davao, Tagum City, yung kahabaan papuntang city hall, malinis sa lahat ng campaign materials. At the end of the day, namomonitor natin na tinatanggal naman nila,” Garcia said.

Violators are given 3 days to remove illegal campaign materials and if they will not follow, the commission will file appropriate charges against them.

According to Garcia, failure to remove illegal campaign materials after being issued a notice is an election offense and candidates may face disqualification.
