Members of the prosecution team have divided the articles of impeachment to be taken up in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

Batangas 2nd District Rep. Gerville Luistro said each prosecutor will be given 2 to 3 assignments. Luistro will be handling the 2nd article on the alleged misuse of the confidential funds of the Office of the Vice-President, the fourth article which tackles graft and corruption and the 5th article which tackles extrajudicial killings.

“Malaki itong confidential funds so I will be working with a number of prosecutors, Rep.(Romeo) Acop, Rep. Rodge Gutierrez, Rep. Jil Bongalon and Rep. [Joel] Chua,” she said in a TeleRadyo Serbisyo interview.

Government prosecutors who fail reelection in the May midterm polls will be replaced, she said.

Members of the House of Representatives in February moved to impeach Duterte for alleged misuse of confidential funds as well as for her threats against the Marcos family.

A Senate trial on the Articles of Impeachment has yet to commence.

Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero earlier said that most senators approve of the idea to begin Duterte's Senate trial by July 30.
