Meron din tayong additional na 40 to 50 special permits (for buses),” said PITX Senior Corporate Affairs Officer Kolyn Calbasa.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/4/15/pitx-says-daily-foot-traffic-may-peak-at-200k-on-holy-wednesday-1436">READ: PITX says daily foot traffic may peak at 200k on Holy Wednesday</a></div><p>But while more trips are being opened, Calbasa said tickets for airconditioned buses and buses with restrooms really get snatched up quickly.</p><p>Bernadette Rempillo and her children were among those that had to endure riding a non-airconditioned bus for an hours-long journey to Albay.</p><p>She said she was not able to book a ticket in advance, since she was busy tending to her children, especially her youngest daughter who has epilepsy.</p><p>“Minsan nga po pag sobrang init tapos feeling niya stressed siya, nakaka-10 times po siyang seizure. Kaso wala talagang choice, paypay paypay na lang. Gabi naman ang biyahe mamaya,” said Rempillo.</p><p>PITX sees foot traffic reaching 180,000 on Holy Tuesday, but the crowd count is expected to peak on Holy Wednesday, once employees finally get off work and start their holiday.</p><p>To avoid overcrowding, the PITX implemented some changes to board gate assignments.</p><p>“Walang masyadong delays tayong na-experience, that’s why siguro hindi natin nakikita na masyadong siksikan na mga pasahero,” added Calbasa.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/4/15/metro-cops-on-24-7-security-coverage-on-holy-week-1758">READ: Metro cops on 24/7 security coverage on Holy Week</a></div><p>She also assured vacationers that all the buses at PITX underwent a roadworthiness check, and that all drivers are fit to work.</p><p>Her statement comes following several recent road crashes involving public utility vehicles.</p><p>Some bus drivers and conductors at PITX even have a buddy system in place to keep each other alert despite the long work days.</p><p>“Mararamdaman mo naman sa driver mo pag inaantok e, kumbaga uuga-uga sa daan.
