MANILA — Isko Moreno is set to reclaim Manila City's top post as he leads the mayoral race against re-electionist Honey Lacuna and newcomer Sam Verzosa in Manila.

As of 12:12 a.m. on Tuesday, Moreno obtained 560,637 votes followed by Lacuna with 197,705 votes and Versoza with 171,271, according to the Commission on Elections' partial and unofficial results, and from 80.44 percent of election returns.

Lacuna was Moreno's running-mate when he made his mayoralty debut in 2019. She had said she felt "betrayed" by Moreno's decision to reclaim the city hall following his "retirement" from politics.

Moreno ran for president in 2022 but lost to Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

After the 2022 polls, Moreno, a former actor, briefly returned to TV hosting.

Of the three mayoral candidates in Manila, Versoza has accepted defeat.

“Buong puso kong tinatanggap ang desisyon ng taumbayan,” he said in a report by Anna Cerezo on X (formerly Twitter). Verzosa also thanked his supporters and vowed to continue his advocacy to uplift the lives of Filipinos.
