If that happens, it would be the &quot;earliest proclamation in the history of our election.&quot;</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/12/comelec-convenes-as-board-of-canvassers-for-halalan-2025-1613">Comelec convenes as board of canvassers for Halalan 2025</a></div><p>&quot;Safe sabihin na hindi na kami lalagpas hanggang linggong ito, Sunday, para makapagproklama tayo ng mga senators at yung party-list naman, pwedeng may isang araw na pagitan,&quot; Comelec chairperson George Garcia said a press conference.</p><p>&quot;That&#x27;s the earliest proclamation in the history of our election... In case we&#x27;ll be able to proclaim by Sunday,&quot; he added.</p><p>Garcia said that such historic feat was possible due to the pace of the canvassing this election.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/12/abs-cbn-launches-portal-to-view-partial-unofficial-result-of-halalan-2025-1508">ABS-CBN launches portal to view partial, unofficial results of Halalan 2025</a></div><p>The Comelec, sitting as National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), was able to process 58 out of 175 certificates of canvass (COC) when it convened on Tuesday, and they are eyeing to canvass 100 more today.</p><p>&quot;Nung mga nakaraan, dalawang linggo ang canvassing.... Misan nga yung naka-canvass kahit second day, minsan tatlo lang, bubuhos sa pang apat, limang araw... Ngayon, kahapon nakita nyo 58, first time, kahit i-reseach nyo sa kasaysayan ng canvassing... Ngayong araw na to, [posibleng] 100 ang ma-canvass natin,&quot; Garcia said.</p><p>&quot;Kaya ganon kalakas ang kalooban ko na sabihin na, sana, matapos na namin ang lahat by tomorrow sa aming canvassing,&quot; he added. </p><p>Garcia said while the canvassing might finish on Thursday, Comelec would need a day or two to prepare the venue and fix other logistical concerns on the proclamation ceremony.</p><p>&quot;Gusto naman natin ibigay kahit paano na marangal at maayos yung lugar kung san ipo-proklama yung magigiting na senaor at miyembro ng kongres sa party-list,&quot; he said.</p><p>In the May 9, 2022 national elections, the Comelec was able to proclaim the 12 winning senators on May 18, 2022.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/05/18/22/comelec-officially-proclaims-12-newly-elected-senators">Halalan 2022: Comelec officially proclaims 12 newly elected senators</a></div><p>&quot;it is to the best interest of the nation that we are able to proclaim immediately our winning candidates para mawala agam agam... We wanted talaga na mag-move on ang nation, masyadong naging divisive ang ating eleksyon,&quot; Garcia noted.</p><p>The Comelec also thumbed down the idea of early proclamation for Senate frontrunners.</p><p>&quot;Wala kaming nakikitang reason bakit kailangang hatiin [ang proclamation of 12 winning senators.
