MANILA — Some senatorial candidates from the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) are asking the Comelec to conduct a thorough investigation into supposed irregularities in the 2025 midterm elections.

PDP-Laban's legal counsel, Atty. Israelito Torreon, arrived at the Manila Hotel, around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, hours before the proclamation of the 12 senators-elect, to submit a 54-page manifestation demanding an investigation and manual recount of the election results.

"We have compiled here all the irregularities and complaints from the recently concluded elections. We have cited the prayers in the said manifestation. This is 54-pages ng manifestation, tinanggal namin yung motion to suspend proclamation para walang haka-haka na yung Duterte 7 ay after sa position. Gusto lamang nila Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, Atty. Jimmy Bondoc, Atty. Raul Lambino, et.al, na ayusin natin ang proseso po ng ating eleksyon," he said.

Included in the manifestation are the following prayers or requests of PDP-Laban for the Commission on Elections:

1. The reported 17 million senatorial overvotes. A total of 35 million overvotes presents grave concerns due to their magnitude. Statistically and significant impact on the credibility and integrity of the electoral results.

2. Forensic audit of the automated machines used in the elections, especially in precincts that registered vote totals exceeding the total number of registered voters, to determine whether or not the voting process was accurate.

3. The operational failure of 50.09% of ACMS, including whether ACM version 3.5 is lawfully certified in accordance with Republic Act 9369.

4. A legal review of Comelec resolutions 11061, 11079, 1108,1 particularly their alignment with existing statutory mandates in the constitutional requirement that all electoral mechanisms must be grounded on express legislative authority, including the implementation of online voting, whether it is consistent with section 28 of Republic Act 10590.

5. Order the conduct of manual counting of senatorial and partylist ballots in selected precincts."

Officials from the Comelec told Torreon to submit the said manifestation to the commission's headquarters in Intramuros, Manila.
