MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said it has validated 100 election-related incidents (ERIs), with 16 cases still under verification, as of May 19.

The validated number is already close to the 105 incidents documented during the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections — a contrast to the PNP’s earlier statement that ERIs in this year’s polls had relatively declined.

In a separate statement, PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil issued a directive to all PNP units across the country to fast-track investigations into all ERIs and ensure that justice is swiftly served.
