MANILA — Reelected Sen. Ronald dela Rosa claimed without presenting evidence Friday that International Criminal Court investigators are "forcing" retired police officers to sign affidavits against him and former President Rodrigo Duterte, as he revealed plans to call for a Senate investigation into his allegation.

Dela Rosa claimed that the ICC has an ongoing mission at a hotel in Pasay City to gather affidavits in the crimes against humanity case at the Hague in the Netherlands.

“Magka-conduct kami ng hearing at ‘yung mga tao na involved diyan, ‘yung mga Pilipino na mga taksil sa ating soberanya ay mananagot ‘yan,” the senator said.

(We will conduct a hearing and the people involved, these Filipinos who are traitors to our sovereignty will be held accountable)

Dela Rosa urged President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to kick out the supposed ICC investigators to prove the sincerity of his offer of political reconciliation.

“[N]andiyan ngayon sa mga hotel diyan sa Pasay na nananakot sa mga retired na mga pulis na pinipilit nila mag-sign ng affidavit na ididiin na kami ni Pangulong Duterte,” Dela Rosa said.

“Tinatakot ‘yung mga pulis natin…Kawawa nga ang mga pulis eh,” the former PNP chief added.

(They are scaring the police. The poor police...)

The Philippine government surrendered the former chief executive to the ICC last March.
