Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Philippines is set to deploy an all-women police unit to a United Nations Peacekeeping mission soon, an official said on Tuesday.</p><p>“We are preparing for 1 company — 5 platoons — all women for police unit very soon,” PMajor Gen. Sancho Celedio told state television PTV.</p><p>“This is our commitment to the pledge of the President to revitalize our contribution in peacekeeping,” he added. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/15/philippines-pledges-more-support-for-united-nations-peacekeeping-1130">Philippines pledges more support for United Nations peacekeeping</a></div><p>Celedio did not say where the Filipino policewomen will be deployed to, but noted that the Philippines is part of the UN’s peacekeeping efforts in South Sudan. </p><p>The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), meantime, has deployed personnel in Central African Republic, Pakistan and India, said LCDR.
