1. KOICA Scholarship Program (South Korea)

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) offers scholarships for master's and doctoral degrees through its CIAT (Capacity Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow) initiative. 

These are specifically available to public officials from the Philippines and other KOICA partner countries.

What does the KOICA scholarship cover?

3. Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarships (Hungary)

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme is Hungary’s flagship government-funded initiative for international students. 

It offers full financial support for a bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master’s, and doctoral degrees, as well as partial (exchange) studies at Hungarian higher education institutions.

What does the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship cover?

• Full exemption from tuition for the entire duration of the study program.

• Monthly stipend: HUF 43,700 (approx. €110) for BA/MA students; HUF 140,000–180,000 for PhD students.

• Accommodation support: HUF 40,000/month housing allowance (paid to student or dormitory).

• Medical insurance: Access to national healthcare services and additional coverage up to HUF 100,000/year.

• Other benefits: Non-Hungarian medium students are required to attend a Hungarian language and culture course; failure to comply reduces the stipend to HUF 30,000.

Eligibility criteria for Stipendium Hungaricum:

• Open only to citizens of countries with a Stipendium Hungaricum Sending Partner Agreement. Residence alone does not qualify an applicant.

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old by 31 August 2025.
