MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said the ongoing random manual audit (RMA) of the 2025 elections has so far shown a 99.997 percent accuracy rate between the machine count and the manual tally.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia said in a press conference on Friday in Pasay that only 23 ballot boxes remain to be audited out of the 723 selected for the random manual audit.

A total of 762 ballot boxes were retrieved, and the audit is expected to conclude either by the end of the day or by Monday.

"Merong ilang mga nakita, may kulang kasing balota o kaya mali kasi 'yung presintong naipadala o kaya meron minsang nawawala 'yung balota. Pero meron lang ilan lang naman na instance but that does not affect the entirety nung kabuuan ng result natin," Garcia said.

"Ang importante, walang ganun kalaking discrepancy katulad ng binabanggit po ng  ilan na nagfa-file ng protesta, hindi po tinatannggap 'yung resulta ng halalan," he added. 

Garcia said anyone is welcome to file an election protest if they believe they have found any irregularities.

"We welcome very much the filing of election protest. Sa Comelec po 26 ang na-file na election protest. And we welcome that because that is part of the process," he said.

He added that the Comelec is reviewing suggestions to further improve future elections.

Garcia also said all Comelec officials will hold an emergency meeting to make crucial decisions following Congress’ ratification of the bicameral conference committee report postponing the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
