MANILA — The MRT-3 resumed full operations on Sunday afternoon, following a power-related issue that temporarily disrupted service.

In an advisory at 4:04 PM, MRT-3 management said operations from North Avenue Station to Taft Avenue Station were back to normal after successful intervention by its maintenance team.

At 3:09 PM, MRT-3 encountered a power-related issue that affected its operations. 

By 3:31 PM, only a provisional service was running, with six trains operating between Shaw Boulevard Station and Taft Avenue Station, according to the advisory.

The disruption left some passengers to seek alternative transport, including Ben Joseph Fuentes, who was on his way home after a trip to the mall.

“Pagtawid namin ng bridgeway diyan, pinapababa na po 'yung mga pasahero, tapos sumisigaw 'yung guard na Shaw to Taft (station) lang po ang pwedeng bumiyahe," Fuentes said.

With MRT service limited, Fuentes had no choice but to book a ride-hailing service.

“Imbis na 'yung commute mo wala pang 50 pesos o 20 pesos lang, mapapabook ka ng 200, 300 na taxi or Grab para makauwi," he added.

MRT-3 management apologized for the inconvenience and thanked passengers for their patience.
