MANILA — The LRT-1 limited its operations on Wednesday morning due to an “electrical fault”, its operator said.

As of 8:54 a.m., trains were running only from Gil Puyat Station to Fernando Poe Jr. Station and vice versa.

The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said its engineering team was on-site to address the electrical fault located between Redemptorist-Aseana and Baclaran stations.

“Simultaneously, our Team is conducting a thorough assessment of our catenary facilities to resolve the issues, followed by necessary repairs,” it said.

“These proactive measures are crucial for ensuring safety and reliability across the entire LRT-1 system,” it added.

The LRMC said it was “closely monitoring the situation and will provide real-time updates as progress is made.”

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen incident,” it said. “We encourage all commuters to plan their trips accordingly and to stay informed through our official channels for the latest advisories.”
