MANILA — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Wednesday said it arrested two Vietnamese nationals for allegedly performing illegal cosmetic surgery procedures.CIDG-National Capital Region chief Col. Marlon Quimno said the suspects, identified only as “Nguyen,” a 25-year-old female, and “Phuong,” a 37-year-old male, were apprehended during an entrapment operation in Bel-Air, Makati City on Monday.The operation was launched following a complaint from a client who claimed that the two conducted a nose lift and administered Korean fillers for only P22,000 — but the results were unsatisfactory.According to Quimno, CIDG operatives caught the suspects in the act of conducting medical consultations and providing quotations for cosmetic procedures, such as nose augmentation and body modification, despite having no permit, license, or registration with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).“Hindi sila doktor at wala silang permit, at walang kakayahan na gumawa ng procedure ngunit ginagawa nila at meron silang maraming kliyente,” Quimno said.(They are not doctors, have no permits, and are not qualified to perform procedures — yet they do, and they have many clients,” he added.)The suspects are now in police custody at Camp Crame and are facing charges for violating the Medical Act of 1959.
