<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17502067032441750206700594.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="Photo from Batasan police"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left"><em>Photo from Batasan police</em></span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — A potential person of interest in the fatal shooting of a House of Representatives employee could be connected to his business, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said Wednesday.</p><p>House Committee Ways and Means technical staff chief Mauricio Pulhin was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants on Sunday, Father’s Day, at the birthday party of his 7-year-old daughter.</p><p>“Nakausap ng mga imbestigador yung family at accordingly, meron silang pinaplanong i-file na case against doon sa kanilang employee. So mako-consider natin iyon na person of interest,” QCPD public information chief P/Maj. Jennifer Gannaban.</p><p>“May business po yata itong si Mr. Pulhin and meron siyang mga tauhan. Dati na niyang empleyado,” she told DZMM.</p><p>But Gannaban noted that the potential person of interest was different from the gunmen.</p><p>“Hindi natin tinitingnan na sila na [ang suspek] kasi as per CCTV, may mga nakita rin tayo doon, yung feature nung gunman. Yun po ang primary suspect natin, yung 2 naka-motorsiklo na bumaril kay Mr. Pulhin,” the police officer said.</p><p>“However, may mga person of interest din po na lumalabas. So maraming anggulo po ang tinitingnan natin. Hindi pa po tayo makapag-conclude as of now,” she said.</p><p>A tracker team is securing CCTV footage to identify the suspects. </p><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q1aCVaCLPgU?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><p>The attack appears to be well-planned given how quickly the gunmen fled from the crime scene, Gannaba said.</p><p>“Parang talagang matindi po yung nakikita natin don na galit nung suspek doon sa victim. Kaya tinitingnan natin kung ano yung motibo kasi hindi pa po natin ma-pinpoint sa ngayon,” she said.</p><p>Asked if the 63-year-old victim had any enemy, Gannaban said, “According doon sa family, wala silang nalalaman na kaaway [ng biktima].”</p><p>“Doon sa pagtatanong-tanong din po, wala ring nalaman na may kaaway — maliban na lang doon sa nabanggit ng kaniyang asawa, yun yung dating empleyado. Pero tinitingnan pa natin kung anong naging connection doon,” she said.</p><p>Pulhin was rushed to the hospital, but was later declared dead.</p><p>Initial investigation revealed that two unidentified suspects entered the venue, shot the victim at close range, and fled on a motorcycle. They also fired at the subdivision’s security guard before escaping.</p>
