MANILA — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Wednesday deployed buses to carry passengers amid the limited operations of LRT-2 due to a "power issue."

Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said the incident began around 3:30 a.m. when Trainset 9 experienced a power supply problem while in transit for deployment.

LRT-2 failed to begin trips on time after a train stalled in the Katipunan area and had to be hauled. Partial operations started at 6 a.m. instead of the scheduled 5 a.m. opening.

Passengers were allowed to enter Araneta-Cubao Station at around 6:45 a.m., as limited operations began on the Recto-Cubao segment.
