MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc on Thursday issued a certificate of finality and entry of judgment in connection with the disqualification petition filed against the Bagong Henerasyon (BH) partylist. 

The Comelec en banc affirmed the May 22 resolution of its First Division, which earlier dismissed the petition. 

With the ruling now final and executory, BH remains qualified to assume its congressional seat.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the poll body has not received any temporary restraining order from the Supreme Court that would halt the partylist’s proclamation.

"Wala naman kaming nakuha na restraining order mula sa kataas taasang hukuman at di kami informed kung may nagfile na kaso," Garcia said.

"Asahan niyo po na we will be proclaimng Baging Henerasyon any moment from now at kinakailangan na maibigay namin sakanila yung tinatawag na Certificate of Proclamation, wala na pong period na pinag-uusapan dito kasi executory na kaagad ang aming desisyon," he added.
