Imee Marcos open to being Senate President in 20th Congress

MANILA — Senator Imee Marcos has expressed openness to the Senate presidency of the 20th Congress. &quot;I think every senator will rise to the challenge,” Marcos told media.&quot;May nakisuyo lang sa akin  kung baka ako na lang daw ang tatakbo. Palagay ko ang gusto lang nila makipag umpugan ako kay Tambaloslos,&quot; she said.She did not name who she was referring to.Marcos also declined to say who expressed support for her.Marcos earlier said she was approached by some of her colleagues to seek the Senate&#x27;s helm in the 20th Congress.Senator-Elect Vicente Sotto III has bared plans to challenge Senate President Francis Escudero.Meantime Marcos panned the call for courtesy resignations from the Cabinet.&quot;Well, so far, dalawa pa lang naman ang tinanggal.&quot;&quot;Hindi ako mahilig ng  mass resignation kasi nabubulabog ang lahat. Tapos sana may tunay na pagbabago maliwanag ang boses ng taongbayan nung election ayaw talaga ng pang aapi sa mga Duterte ang walang humpay na pamumulitika,” she added.&quot;It may have given the wrong signals about the country and in some way also jeopardized our economy,” Marcos said.
