Vice President Sara Duterte has dismissed a circulating photo allegedly showing her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, bedridden in a hospital with identification tags on his wrist, calling it fake.In a media interview updating her father&#x27;s supporters, she insisted that the former president appeared healthier—though noticeably leaner—than before. She described his face as firmer and with fewer wrinkles.¨Kaninang umaga may nagpadala sa akin ng photo na mukhang nasa hospital bed si dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, na may dalawang band sa kamay niya. So hindi po totoo ang photo na iyon. Malamang edited ang photo na iyon. Malamang ibang pasyente iyon. Inano lang nila ang mukha ni dating pangulong Duterte. Wala po siya sa ospital ng detention unit. Nandoon po siya sa regular wing ng detention unit. At kanina, naglalakad naman siya mag-isa. May dala dala siyang tungkod. Clearly, he’s not suffering from any illness that would render him bedridden.)She reiterated that despite weight loss, her father seems healthier overall.When asked whether the International Criminal Court (ICC) could release a health bulletin about him, Duterte said that such matters would need to be clarified with legal counsel.¨Yan ang hindi natin alam pero puwede natin itanong kasama iyong kung puwede bang ilabas ang photo. His face hasn’t sagged, unlike many of ours as we age.&quot;The former president losing weight could be attributed to a change of diet and his diabetes wherein, she said perhaps the doctors are controlling to keep him at the right weight.The Duterte patriarch was arrested on March 11  on his arrival from Hong Kong at the request of the International Criminal Court (ICC) as part of its probe into his &quot;war on drugs&quot; that defined his presidency.The ICC warrant for Duterte&#x27;s arrest said that as president, the 80-year-old Duterte allegedly created, funded, and armed death squads that carried out murders of purported drug users and dealers.He was brought to The Hague in the Netherlands on the same day he was arrested.Duterte on March 14 appeared via video link before ICC judges. He is set to attend a September 23 hearing to confirm the charges against him. <div>TO SOUTH KOREA NEXT</div>The younger Duterte has been in The Netherlands since last weekend and is scheduled to stay until July 23. From there, she will return to Manila before traveling to South Korea, having accepted an invitation from the Filipino community there. She emphasized her commitment to personally update overseas Filipinos about her father’s status and broader national issues.Regarding the impeachment trial, Duterte said she is ready to address all allegations—including claims about fictitious beneficiaries of the Department of Education&#x27;s confidential fund during her tenure as secretary.
