MANILA -- The Supreme Court said Wednesday night that it is monitoring the situation of Pasig City Regional Trial Court personnel following online threats via email which targeted its judges.

In a statement, the high court said the online threats were received on Wednesday morning.

“The court is taking this matter seriously and is closely monitoring the situation,” the SC said.

The SC added that an investigation is being conducted, in coordination with law enforcement authorities.

“Appropriate security measures have also been put in place to ensure the safety and protection of the judges, court personnel, court users, and the general public,” the SC said.

The SC also reiterated that judges would continue to carry out their duties with integrity and calm resolve.

The court however urges the public and stakeholders to remain vigilant and continue supporting the judicial process with trust and respect.

“The judiciary remains committed to upholding judicial independence,” the SC said.
