MANILA — Twelve active PNP personnel have filed their counter-affidavits before the National Police Commission (Napolcom) on Monday, July 21, in response to the administrative complaints filed by Julie Patidongan or alyas "Totoy" over their alleged involvement in the missing "sabungeros” case.

On July 15, the cops linked to the controversial case were formally summoned by the IMIS and given five working days to submit their counter-affidavits. The deadline was adjusted to Monday due to the weekend.

According to Napolocom Vice Chairman and Executive Officer Rafael Vicente Calinisan, once all the affidavits are in, the commission's Inspection, Monitoring and Investigation Service (IMIS) will carefully evaluate both the complaints and the responses of the respondents.

When asked about the contents of the affidavits, Calinisan said he had yet to read them but was informed that most of the responses contained outright denials.

On July 14, Patidongan named in his complaint a police colonel, a police lieutenant colonel, a police major, an executive master sergeant, a master sergeant, a senior master sergeant, a senior staff sergeant, two chief master sergeants, and a corporal.

Ah, 'yung marami 'yan sila actually. Hindi ko lang mapangalanan dahil kilalang-kilala ko naman 'yan sila sa mukha,” Patidongan said on that press conference.

Some of the involved cops personally appeared while some were represented by a legal counsel.

They have yet to release a statement.
