Rice buffer rice stock enough for 12 days: NFA

MANILA — Malacañang on Wednesday assured the public that the National Food Authority has enough buffer rice stock to last the country for 12 days, amid continuing inclement weather.

“So far po, nationwide walang na-danyos na mga stocks po natin na mga bigas at ang NFA ay ready anytime to release stocks to requesting LGU and relief agencies. At sabi po ng NFA administration, super secure in terms of buffer stock ang NFA at mayroon po tayong enough stocks to last for 12 days, buong Pilipinas po ay makakakain,” Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.

The Palace official noted that the NFA has been able to release to the DSWD 6,600 bags or sacks of rice in Tarlac to be distributed to families affected by the onslaught of the southwest monsoon.

“Mayroon din naibigay ang NFA sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Puerto Prinsesa na 200 sacks of rice bags, LGU pala one three hundred at hindi po na danyos, wala pong danyos iyong mga stocks lalung-lalo na po dito sa Occidental Mindoro and Valenzuela warehouse,” she said.
