MANILA -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Saturday conducted a mock election in Intramuros in anticipation of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections scheduled for October 13, 2025.

Representatives from the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), National Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL), Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE), Regional Parliamentary Political Parties, and other election stakeholders were present to observe the proceedings at the Monitoring Center in Palacio del Gobernador.

Mock voting started at 7:00 a.m. and concluded at 10: a.m. A total of eight clustered precincts participated in the mock voting event, with two precincts designated from each municipality or city.

The venues for the precincts included locations in Marawi City and Butig within the province of Lanao Del Sur, as well as Bongao and Simunul in the province of Tawi-Tawi.

Each precinct accommodated 50 voters. A total of 400 voters participated in the event.

Voting officially closed at the eight clustered precincts in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) at 10:00 AM. 

The transmission of votes was closely monitored by Comelec.

As of 10:37 AM, all Election Returns (ERs) from the eight clustered precincts in BARMM have been successfully transmitted.

Comelec also closely monitored its consolidation and canvassing system to ensure a smooth and accurate vote count.

Officials specifically observed the signal and connectivity status of the various canvassing systems in real-time. 

This oversight aimed to preempt any technical issues that could disrupt the transmission and tabulation of election results.

As of 11:08 AM, canvassing was completed.
