MANILA — Nueva Ecija 1st District Rep. Mikaela Suansing received a plum post on Tuesday, as she was elected chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriations.Bataan 2nd District Rep. Albert Garcia was named Senior Vice Chairperson of the same panel.The House Appropriations Committee holds budget hearings, where leaders of government agencies defend their funding needs.Two House impeachment prosecutors, meanwhile, were elected committee chairpersons.Manila City 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua kept his post as chair of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability. In the 19th Congress, Chua’s panel conducted an inquiry into the alleged misuse of confidential funds by the offices led by Vice President Sara Duterte. The VP denied the allegations, but findings from the hearing prompted the filing of impeachment complaints against her before the lower chamber.Another impeachment prosecutor, Bukidnon 2nd District Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores, has been elected chairperson of the House Committee on Dangerous Drugs. The panel is part of the so-called House Quad Committee, which in the 19th Congress investigated illegal drugs, illegal POGOs, and the alleged extrajudicial killings in the Duterte administration’s drug war. Some congressmen called for a revival of the Quad Comm in the 20th Congress to look into the case of missing sabungeros.The House Committee on Human Rights, which was also part of the Quad Comm, will still be chaired by Manila City 6th District Representative Bienvenido Abante Jr. in the 20th Congress.Other congressmen elected to committee chairmanship posts at the lower chamber are:<ul><li>Accounts- Rep. Miro Quimbo</li></ul><div>HOUSE MAJORITY BLOC LEADERS</div>Three more members of the House impeachment prosecution team against Duterte and some re-elected congressmen belonging to the so-called “Young Guns” in the 19th Congress were elected to leadership posts in the 20th Congress House majority bloc.Iloilo 3rd District Representative Lorenz Defensor, a House impeachment prosecutor, has been named House Senior Deputy Majority Leader.Representatives Rodge Gutierrez and Arnan Panaligan, meanwhile, were elected House Deputy Majority Leaders.Other congressmen named House Deputy Majority Leaders are:<ul><li>Rep.
