ABS-CBN News/File</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The SUV driver who went viral after it counterflowed on Skyway over the weekend did not show up at the hearing set by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Tuesday.</p><p>LTO executive director Greg Pua said the show cause order was delivered personally on the driver&#x27;s address last Sunday but he still failed to show up.</p><p>Pua added only the registered owner of the SUV presented himself before the agency&#x27;s Intelligence and Investigation Division (LTO-IID).</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/10/suv-driver-loses-license-for-life-after-dangerous-counterflow-on-skyway-1606" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">SUV driver gets license revoked for life after dangerous counterflow on Skyway</a></div><p>Although the LTO withheld the name of the SUV owner, who also refused to be interviewed by the media, Pua said the registered owner said he presented documents showing that the SUV was no longer with him. It was apparently repossessed by a local bank in July 2021.</p><p>“Ang nag-attend lang po ay yung may-ari. Yung driver ay hindi po nag-attend. Ang sinasabi po nung registered owner ay since July 2021 ay wala na sa kanya ang possession ng sasakyan na involved dun sa Skyway incident,” Pua told reporters.</p><p>“Meron po siyang ipinakitang dokumento na isinurrender niya yung unit sa Eastwest Bank,” said Pua.</p><p>The LTO reminded the public to always process the transfer of documents especially when purchasing second hand vehicles.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RESOLUTION</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>Meanwhile, the LTO said the case against the SUV driver is now submitted for resolution.</p><p>The LTO-Intelligence Investigation Division will be releasing its decision within the week based on available evidences.</p><p>“Ire-resolba na po natin ang kaso, considering na binigyan naman po siya ng sufficient time to attend and to answer pero hindi po niya ginawa,” Pua said. </p><div> <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/8/9/driver-na-nag-counterflow-sa-skyway-kanselado-habangbuhay-ang-lisensya-2120">Driver na nag-counterflow sa Skyway, kanselado habangbuhay ang lisensya</a></div><p>Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon earlier ordered the perpetual revocation of license of the said driver.</p><p>Pua explained the penalty or sanction against the driver will be based on the gravity of the violation, however he added revocation is always an option.</p><p>“Lagi naman pong kino-consider natin yan (perpetual disqualification) because of the gravity of the offense na kanilang ginagawa.
