Marcos Jr. delivers his statement on his State Visit to India and answers questions on pressing issues during the Kapihan with the Media at the Taj West End in Bengaluru, India, on August 8, 2025, before returning to the Philippines.  Noel Pabalate, PPA pool</div>MANILA -- President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assured that more fish ports equipped with modernized facilities will be constructed in various parts of the country.This, as he led the inauguration of the rehabilitated and improved Philippine Fisheries Development Authority – Iloilo Fish Port Complex in Barangay Tanza-Baybay, Iloilo City Wednesday, August 13. In his speech, the president underscored the importance of modernized infrastructure for agriculture such as cold storage facilities to improve the country&#x27;s food supply chain. &quot;Kaya ito po, sa aking palagay, ay isa sa mga pinakamahalagang gagawin namin sa Department of Agriculture. Sampu pa ito. Sampu ang itatayo pa natin na ganito sa buong bansa,&quot; he said. <div><a class="fr-strong fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/7/24/agri-produce-enough-despite-crising-habagat-damage-da-0714">READ: Agri produce enough despite Crising, habagat damage - DA</a></div>The newly rehabilitated Iloilo fish port complex cost P885 million and is equipped with a 390-kilowatt peak (kWp) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system with 1,152 of 370-watt PV solar panel modules mounted on key structures.It also includes a new market hall, a refrigeration building, a cold storage facility, a commercial building, a public toilet and administration building.&quot;This project not only cuts electricity costs and improves operational efficiency but also aligns with the President&#x27;s call for sustainable and climate-resilient fish ports by reducing the facility&#x27;s carbon footprint,&quot; the RTVM noted in its overview caption. Marcos Jr. also emphasized the need to be at par with neighboring countries.&quot;Kapag tinitingnan natin ang ginagawa ng mga ibang bansa kagaya ng Thailand, kagaya ng Vietnam, gaya ng mga ibang bansa na nakapaligid sa atin ay napakaganda ng kanilang sistema. Nasa sa inyo na &#x27;yun kaya&#x27;t maiiwan &#x27;yung kita sa inyo,&quot; he added.Marcos Jr. also inspected agricultural equipment distributed by the agricultural department worth over PhP37 million such as four-wheel tractors, corn mills, corn shellers, hammer mills, rice combine harvesters, village-type rice mills, forage choppers, and fiberglass boats with engines. &quot;Kami nagpapasalamat sa inyo at importante itong ginagawa ninyo. Kayo ang nagpapakain sa lahat ng Pilipino.
