Salisi suspect arrested n Las Pinas

<p>MANILA— The Southern Police District Special Operations Unit (SPD SOU) arrested on Wednesday a 44-year-old woman suspected of theft in a hot pursuit operation along Zapote in Las Piñas City.</p><p>According to a report from SPD, the suspect was tracked down through CCTV footage and later positively identified as an accomplice in a &quot;salisi&quot; theft incident that victimized Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Chairperson George Erwin Garcia.</p><p>The theft occurred around 12:50 p.m. on August 19, 2025, in a restaurant along Roxas Boulevard Service Road in Pasay City.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/19/bag-ni-comelec-chair-garcia-nanakaw-sa-kainan-sa-pasay-cellphone-cash-natangay-0658">Bag ni Comelec chair Garcia nanakaw sa kainan sa Pasay</a></div><p>&quot;Siguro po yun ay nailapag sa isa sa mga lamesa, sa sobrang dami ng mga tao hindi na napansin, medyo may nakasalisi at nakuha yung ating bag,&quot; Garcia said in an interview on DZMM Teleradyo.</p><p>&quot;Yung bag naglalaman ng isang cellphone na pre-paid pa...meron din pong konting pera. Hindi naman ganun kalaki tapos yung mga ID,&quot; he added.</p><p>Police were able to recover Garcia&#x27;s bag in the operation.</p><p>&quot;Bilang isang leksyon, una dapat lagi tayong handa.
