Vicente Lim Elementary School.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/6/massive-fire-hits-tondo-1153">3 injured, 1,500 families affected in Tondo fire</a></div><p>“Agad-agad nautusan kami ng ating pangulo na magpadala ng food packs at may dagdag na P15,000 ngayong araw para sa inyo,” DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian said.</p><p>First District Rep. Ernix Dionisio and Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) head Jay dela Fuente said residents are expected to return to their residential area in the coming days.</p><p>“We will make sure that maisaayos sila muli na mai-clear out yung area at bawat isang batang Tondo dito poprotektahan natin para makabalik sila sa dati nilang tinutuluyan,” Dionisio said.</p><p>“Hopefully, makakabalik sila doon sa nasunugan na lugar nila, siguro mga Monday or Tuesday kasi karamihan naman dito may mga hanapbuhay din at may mga kamaganak dito sa malalapit na lugar,” Fuente said.</p><p>Fuente added that the local government is coordinating with the DSWD on a housing project for the affected residents.</p><p>A group led by film director Chocoy Torres distributed hot meals and performed songs for the fire victims.</p><p>Several non-government organizations also distributed hygiene kits, water, and rice packs.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0vxk5HSyhrI?si=c5F7RT6BxLn20VWW" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><br/></div>
