<p>MANILA — Vince Dizon on Monday took his oath as head of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), as it grappled with scrutiny over allegedly anomalous flood control projects.</p><p>President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. led Dizon’s oath taking in Malacañang, photos released by the Presidential Communications Office showed.</p><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fphoto.php%3Ffbid%3D1193660282786696%26set%3Da.228156996003701%26type%3D3&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500" width="500" height="683" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>The Palace on Sunday said Marcos accepted the resignation of Dizon’s predecessor Manuel Bonoan, who “expressed support for the President&#x27;s call for accountability, transparency, and reform within the DPWH.”</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/1/marcos-bonoan-s-resignation-a-form-of-command-responsibility-over-alleged-dpwh-anomalies-1004">Marcos: Bonoan’s resignation a form of ‘command responsibility’ over alleged DPWH anomalies</a></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>‘VERY GOOD JOB’  IN DOTR </strong></div><div><br/></div><p>Marcos expressed confidence in Dizon’s leadership of the DPWH, saying he did “a very good job” as secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).</p><p>In a chance interview with reporters, Marcos said Dizon also “set the stage” for all the things that needs to be done under the DOTr.</p><p>“Pwede na niyang iwanan [ang DOTr] and go to public works kasi he’s also familiar with the workings of the Department of Public Works and Highways,” he said.</p><p>&quot;Secretary Dizon has been tasked to conduct a full organizational sweep of the Department and ensure that public funds are used solely for infrastructure that truly protects and benefits the Filipino people,&quot; the Palace said on Sunday. </p><p>A Batangas lawmaker last week claimed that several flood control project contracts were awarded without actual bidding. </p><p>Sen. Panfilo &quot;Ping&quot; Lacson also disclosed the supposed collusion between DPWH insiders, contractors, and a congressman to carry out corrupt schemes on the said projects.  </p><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><div><br style="caret-color:rgb(0, 0, 0);color:rgb(0, 0, 0)"/></div>
