<p>MANILA -- A portion of North Avenue at the Elliptical Road junction in Quezon City has been closed to motorists starting Wednesday, to give way to the construction of a pedestrian tunnel for the MRT-7 project. </p><div>The closure began Wednesday morning, September 24, coinciding with the start of drilling operations in the area.<span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:750px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1758723787767viber_image_2025-09-24_18-03-25-427.jpg" style="width:750px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="Quezon City&#x27;s traffic advisory regarding the closure of portions of North Avenue. Instead, they will encounter a U-turn slot, redirecting them back toward North Avenue and Mindanao Avenue. </p><p>They are now advised to use Quezon Avenue to get to the Elliptical Road. </p><p>The closure is expected to last until November 30. </p><p>“Sa ngayon tatlo yung kanto niyan, dala-dalawa, six per location, so anim per shift ang ilalagay namin. Ang medyo apektado diyan, yung taga Miriam Defensor Santiago at Quezon Avenue. Doon maiipon yung mga motorista na papunta ng Miriam Defensor Santiago to North Avenue to Mindanao Avenue. So coordinated tayo ng MMDA,&quot; said Dexter Cardenas, Head of the Quezon City Traffic and Transport Management Department. </p><p>Some commuters who will be affected by the changes will also be adjusting their travel schedules. </p><p>Joshua Rabusa, a regular commuter, said: “Mas maaga na lang din papasok kasi medyo matraffic sa mga daan dyan. Usually 6:30, so mga alas sais siguro para makarating pa rin on time.” </p><p>Christelle Merle shared a similar sentiment. “Mahirap siya kasi traffic pa ’yun eh kapag iikot.
