MANILA -- Malacañang will look into other government infrastructure projects of one of the firms of Curlee and Sarah Discaya.This, after First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro expressed dismay with the unfinished works at the Philippine Film Heritage Building in Intramuros, Manila Thursday, September 4.The building will serve as the headquarters of the Film Development Council of the Philippines.The project was awarded to Great Pacific Builders and General Contractor Incorporated by the Department of Public Works and Highways - South Manila Engineering District with a contract cost of P143.22 million.It has a revised contract amount of P107.9 million based on the project profile provided by Castro.The Palace official said the building was supposed to be completed on September 4 but several portions remain unfinished such as the Cinematheque Center Manila.Some subcon workers who are working at the location said they were told that the target finish date would be on September 15.During the inspection, the Palace pointed out some finishing works that do not meet quality standards.“Nakita niyo po yung downspout kanina hindi siya normal dahil ‘yung pagtulo ng tubig ulan diretso sa kalsada, lahat ng taong dadaan pwedeng mabasa,” she said in an interview with the media.“‘Yung kontratang ito yung contractor dito hindi lang pambaha, pang building pa,” she added.Castro floated the idea of filing complaints against the Discaya-owned firm should they fail to act and show good faith.“Kung wala silang valid reason kung bakit hindi nila ito nai-turn over ng tama at naaayon sa kontrata, pwede silang makasuhan, unang-una civil liability, meron ‘to,” she stated.“Kung merong makikitang panloloko eh hindi makakaila na pwede silang makasuhan ng estafa,” Castro added.ABS-CBN News has reached out to the counsel of the Discayas but they have yet to issue a comment.<div> </div><div><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/e7fvkE383vQ??si=s0puSWiwIDFM5EwX&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe> </div>
