Contributed video/screengrab via Christopher Sitson, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA — Nakuhaan ng video ang pangmamaltrato umano sa isang service dog sa loob ng compound sa Pasig City nitong Miyerkules ng hapon.Ayon kay “Nicole”, sumilip siya sa bintana para tingnan ang panahon at doon niya nakita ang aso at tagapangalaga nito sa Meralco compound.“I’m working here [in the] business center, sa kabilang building. Usually pag pauwi na kami, umuulan, sinilip ko lang talaga ‘yung weather kung maaraw ba, paulan ba. Noong una akala ko naglalaro lang ‘yung K9 unit at handler niya. Noong una natutuwa pa ako,” sabi ni Nicole.Pero maya-maya pa ay kapansin-pansin na ang pangmamaltrato umano ng handler sa aso na si Bingo.“Nag-start na siyang hawakan sa leeg, inaangat na niya ‘yung collar, tapos sinasampal na niya, tapos napapansin ko nga parang ang tagal na,” kwento ni Nicole.Agad na pinuntahan ni Nicole ang compound at kinausap ang guwardiya para ipagbigay alam ang insidente.“Sabi ko doon sa mga kasamahan ko, video-han nila, kasi tumatakbo na ko roon sa Meralco compound. Hindi ako nakapasok kasi nga wala akong business doon tsaka mahigpit kasi ‘yung security. ‘Yung guard lang nakausap ko. Tinawag nila ‘yung handler ayun hindi ko na napakinggan ‘yung reason kasi sobrang nagagalit na ako,” sabi pa ni Nicole.Ayon sa Search and Secure Canine Training and Services International Inc., na may hawak sa handler at service dog, nasa daily proficiency test si Bingo nang mangyari ang insidente. Tiniyak nila na hindi kukunsintihin ang naging pagtrato ng kanilang empleyado sa aso.“We are aware of the video circulating online involving one of our dog handlers during a daily proficiency test on September 3, 2025. We would like to assure the public, our clients, and our partners that this behavior does not reflect SAS K9’s values, and it is not something we condone or tolerate,” sabi nito sa isang pahayag.Matapos maberipika ang insidente, agad umanong pinagpaliwanag ang handler at handa siyang sumailalim sa &quot;corrective measures.&quot; Pinatawan ng preventive suspension ang kanilang empleyado na muling sasailalim sa retraining at reassessment.“The handler has been placed under preventive suspension and has been directed to return to our K9 training facility in Cavite for retraining and reassessment.”Kinumpirma nilang na nasa maayos na kondisyon si Bingo.“The dog involved in the incident was promptly evaluated by our team, and we can confirm that he is in good health and has not sustained any injuries,” sabi nila.Siniguro rin ni Meralco Spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga na imo-monitor ang lagay ni Bingo.“Bingo&#x27;s wellbeing remains our top concern.
