Toby Tiangco on Tuesday revealed there were discussions of a leadership shakeup in the House of Representatives.</p><p>Tiangco said talk of leadership change started last week, with some of his colleagues asking if they had enough numbers.</p><p>&quot;Even last week they always ask me ano ba ang mangyayari sa atin dito, sirang-sira na papel natin, sirang-sira na pangalan ng Kongreso,&quot; Tiangco told ANC. </p><p>&quot;They&#x27;re finding a way na huwag si [Bacolod] Rep. Albee [Benitez] ang ilagay at ang ilagay is someone na parang I heard Martin will give way to someone na he&#x27;s comfortable with,&quot; he said.</p><p>The possible change in leadership in the House comes after government contractors Sarah and Curlee accused some lawmakers, including House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Vicente &quot;Tito&quot; Sotto III replaced Sen. Chiz Escudero as Senate President </a>on Monday.</p><p>Escudero&#x27;s ouster followed accusations of impropriety over his acceptance of P30 million campaign funds from government contractor Lawrence Lubiano. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/8/marcos-jr-says-no-more-budget-for-flood-control-projects-in-2026-2044">Marcos Jr. says no more budget for flood control projects in 2026</a></div><p>Tiangco said he would support Benitez for the House Speakership.</p><p>&quot;I don&#x27;t know if hindi pwedeng si Albee, ako kay Albee ako, that&#x27;s why I&#x27;m this vocal,&quot; he said.</p><p>He said the leadership shakeup should be a &quot;total overhaul&quot; and that it could not be &quot;a cosmetic change just to make it appear that we changed one person.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Ang point ko lang, hindi pwedeng Speaker lang papalitan.
