Handout/Ako Bicol Partylist/File</div>MANILA -- The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) is investigating more than 24 vehicles linked to former lawmaker Zaldy Co, aside from the luxury units already recovered during a recent operation.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/9/ici-takes-custody-of-luxury-vehicles-linked-to-zaldy-co-after-bgc-raid-0850">READ: ICI takes custody of luxury vehicles linked to Zaldy Co after BGC raid</a></div>HPG Acting Director Police Brigadier General Hansel Marantan said at least 10 additional vehicles are currently on the HPG&#x27;s watch list and authorities are urging drivers and custodians to voluntarily surrender them.Marantan reported that a total of 12 vehicles linked to Co were confiscated last Thursday during a joint operation with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC).&quot;Nine &#x27;yung subject of the SW initiated by the ICI and the BOC. So ang napaandar lang ay 4,&quot; Marantan said.Marantan disclosed that the keys to several of the seized luxury vehicles were turned over by individuals from Co&#x27;s own group, noting that some of them were already frustrated with the situation.The confiscated vehicles will undergo forensic examination to verify reports that they may contain contraband, particularly firearms. &quot;Titingnan &#x27;yung mga motor numbers, &#x27;yung chassis numbers and other documents kasi ang report kasi noong Dec. 21 spurious documents at may mga contraband inside so tama lang na isubject natin &#x27;yan sa forensic examination,&quot; he said. Marantan stressed that all motor vehicles should undergo proper registration and clearance through the Motor Vehicle Clearance Division (MVCD), saying the absence of official records hampers law enforcement verification.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/11/pnp-seizure-of-luxury-cars-linked-to-zaldy-co-followed-procedure-1143">READ: Seizure of luxury cars linked to Zaldy Co followed procedure -- PNP</a></div>He added that authorities have observed attempts to evade the investigation, alleging that some vehicles were being transferred from one location to another. &quot;Tinatanggal nila &#x27;yung mga sasakyan at tinatago from one place to another like &#x27;yung mga air assets nila, nung the ICI was trying to go deeper on the investigation suddenly nawala &#x27;yung mga air assets for some reasons,&quot; Marantan said. &quot;So there&#x27;s malice dito sa mga investigation na ito kung you are in good faith to that, bakit hindi mo i-surrender &#x27;yung mga motor vehicles subject of the investigation para matapos na.&quot; He warned that the vehicles cannot be legally used or sold and that anyone found in possession of them may be held liable.Marantan said some individuals have reached out to authorities to express willingness to cooperate, though the HPG is still assessing whether they will follow through on their promises.Responding to claims by Co&#x27;s lawyers questioning the legality of the operation, Marantan maintained that the seizure was lawful.&quot;Legal naman talaga &#x27;yung ginawa namin. Ano ang ikakaso nila sa amin? Na kinuha namin &#x27;yung sasakyan nila na naka-uniporme kami, nagpaalam kami sa kanila.
