Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News/File</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has stepped up coordination with immigration authorities to prevent businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang from leaving the country as authorities intensify efforts to arrest those implicated in the disappearance of several cockfighting enthusiasts or &quot;sabungeros.&quot;</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/14/arrest-warrant-vs-atong-ang-out-1127">Arrest warrant vs Atong Ang out in &#x27;missing sabungeros&#x27; case</a></div><p>In a press release Thursday, acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said all major exit points have been placed on alert, with intelligence units and tracker teams mobilized to ensure that suspects facing arrest warrants do not evade the law by fleeing abroad.</p><p>Nartatez urged Ang to submit himself to authorities, stressing that the PNP is resolute in enforcing the court-issued warrant.</p><p>“The most logical option for him is to surrender because the PNP is determined to comply with the arrest warrant issued by the court,” Nartatez said.</p><p>“If he is indeed innocent as he has been claiming, the more that he should be encouraged to surrender to face the accusations against him,” he added.</p><p>The Sta.
