Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News-CBN News/File" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Senator Imee Marcos interpellates during  the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on anomalous flood control projects on Thursday, September 18, 2025. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News-CBN News/File</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA -- Senator Imee Marcos declined to confirm whether she would appear at the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing scheduled on Monday, amid an ongoing dispute with committee chair and Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson.</p><p>Marcos has been at the center of a heated exchange with Lacson over the past several days after she claimed that minority senators were being prevented by the Blue Ribbon Committee from linking former House Speaker Martin Romualdez to alleged anomalies in flood control funds.</p><p>Lacson, for his part, criticized what he described as Marcos’ baseless attacks against the Blue Ribbon Committee, particularly regarding its investigation into the flood control controversy, noting that Marcos has yet to attend any of the hearings he has chaired. </p><div><a class="fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/11/p2-5-b-in-allocables-tied-to-imee-marcos-in-2025-nep-says-lacson-1944"><strong>P2.5-B in &#x27;allocables&#x27; tied to Imee Marcos in 2025 NEP, says Lacson</strong></a></div><p>When asked by reporters on Sunday whether she would attend what would be her first appearance at the committee hearing, Marcos replied: “Bukas pa po ’yun.” </p><p>On Sunday, Marcos joined devotees in Tondo for the annual feast of Sto. Niño, where she said she offered prayers for Filipinos facing economic hardship.</p><p>&quot;Sana ginhawaan ang buong sambayanan ng Pilipino. Napakahirap ng buhay ngayon. Sana medyo umangat ng konti lalo na ’yung mga mahihirap. Alam naman natin mga kabataan, ayan, talagang minamahal ng Santo Niño na kapwa bata. So inaasahan po na talagang mabendisyunan lahat ng ating kabataan at ang kanilang kinabukasan,” she said.</p><p>Following the 3 p.m. Mass, the senator distributed bread and water to devotees in the area. Ah, dahil nung panahon na ’yon, ito dati talaga ang ano nga ang masasabi? ’Yung isa sa mga lugar na napakahirap pagka’t migrante ang mga narito, Kabisayaan at saka Mindanao. Kaya ayun sana maibalik namin ng kaunti ang kasiyahan at kabusugan ng Nutribun,” Marcos said.</p><div> </div>
