<p>MANILA<strong> (2nd UPDATE)</strong> – The lawmaker who endorsed the impeachment complaint in the House of Representatives is among those implicated in the anomalous flood control projects, the Palace said on Monday.</p><p>Asked about what Palace Press Officer Claire Castro thinks about Atty. Andre de Jesus – who filed the impeachment complaint – and Pusong Pinoy Party-list Rep. Jett Nisay who endorsed it, Castro said she has no personal knowledge about their intentions.</p><p>“Ang alam lang natin sa ngayon, ang party-list na nag-endorse ay isa sa walong contractors na nabanggit ng ICI,” she added.</p><p>The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) in late November recommended the filing of criminal and administrative complaints against several “congtractors” or lawmakers who supposedly own construction firms that bagged government projects.</p><p>Nisay was allegedly linked to JVN Construction and Trading, which was allegedly awarded 3 infrastructure projects from 2021 to 2022, with a price tag of more than P73 million.&quot;</p><p>JVN Construction and Trading (&#x27;JVN&#x27;) is a sole proprietorship owned by Rep. Jernie Jett Nisay (&#x27;Rep. Nisay&#x27;), who has been serving as a representative of the Pusong Pinoy Partylist since 2022 up to the present,&quot; according to the ICI referral on Nov. 26.</p><p>ABS-CBN News sought comments from Nisay regarding this matter but he has yet to respond as of this story’s posting.</p><div> </div><div><strong>NO BASIS TO JUSTIFY IMPEACHMENT COMPLAINT VS. MARCOS: SPEAKER</strong></div><p>House Speaker Faustino &quot;Bojie&quot; Dy III, meanwhile, stressed that he sees no basis to justify the impeachment complaint filed against the President.</p><p>&quot;Malinaw na ginagampanan ng ating Presidente ang mandatong ipinagkatiwala sa kanya ng taumbayan, alinsunod sa batas,&quot; he said in a statement.</p><p>Emphasizing that impeachment complaints require a rigid process, Dy also said that these shouldn&#x27;t be used for &quot;politicking.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Responsibilidad ng Kapulungan ng mga Kinatawan ayon sa Saligang Batas, na tanggapin at suriin ang mga ganitong daing—at ito ay dapat na isinasagawa nang may lubos na pag-iingat at paggalang sa Konstitusyon. Hindi ito dapat ginagamit sa pamumulitika at maging sanhi ng pagkakawatak-watak.&quot;</p><p>Dy explained that Congress will focus on crafting important legislation as they open the session.</p><div><br/></div><div><br/></div>
