Ako Bicol party-list</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — The Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) on Monday confirmed that two of the four <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/8/authorities-seize-some-of-zaldy-co-s-luxury-vehicles-2016">luxury vehicles</a> linked to former Congressman Zaldy Co were found to have spurious documents following validation of available records and clearances.</p><p>HPG acting director PBGen. Hansel Marantan said the vehicles underwent physical and macro-etching inspections as part of the verification process.</p><p>One of the vehicles was discovered to be using a fake plate number and was registered under a different individual, whose identity authorities declined to disclose for now.</p><p>“Obviously, gawa-gawa lang ‘yung plaka. In fact, nagalit nga ‘yung may-ari ng plaka bakit siya ininvolved. I cannot divulge the rightful owner of the plate,” Marantan said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/15/marcos-jr-wants-coordination-with-portugal-for-zaldy-co-s-return-not-extradition-palace-1520">Marcos Jr. wants coordination with Portugal for Zaldy Co’s return, not extradition–Palace</a></div><p>Another vehicle was found to be registered under the name of a female individual, while the remaining two vehicles were confirmed to have no clearance issued by the Motor Vehicle Clearance Division (MVCD).</p><p>Authorities are preparing to file additional charges in coordination with other government agencies.</p><p>“Mag-uusap kami ng BOC (Bureau of Customs), the LTO (Land Transportation Office), and the HPG kung ano ‘yung tamang kasong mai-file,” Marantan said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/13/boc-ici-defend-search-seizure-of-luxury-vehicles-linked-to-zaldy-co-1716">BOC, ICI defend search, seizure of luxury vehicles linked to Zaldy Co</a></div><p>The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) is also conducting its own probe, noting that the vehicles were recovered from a controlled parking area reportedly linked to former congressman Co.</p><p>“Maiintindihan natin na nakuha lahat ‘yan doon sa controlled parking areas ni Cong. Zaldy Co, so the question is bakit nandun sa parking lot na ‘yan?” Marantan added.</p><p>Based on initial estimates, the value of the vehicles involved is around P200 million, including four luxury vehicles that were excluded from the BOC initial search warrant.</p><p>Authorities said they were still tracking down other vehicles reported to have spurious documents. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/26/marcos-jr-zaldy-co-trying-to-negotiate-with-government-to-keep-passport-1301">Marcos Jr.: Zaldy Co tried to &#x27;blackmail&#x27; admin to keep passport</a></div><p>Meanwhile, individuals who earlier expressed willingness to surrender vehicles have yet to do so.</p><p>Marantan urged legitimate owners to coordinate with authorities to establish proof of ownership.</p><p>“Makipag-coordinate kayo sa amin or kami ang pupunta sa inyo. Your choice kung ano convenient place sa inyo.
