Security around the Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group headquarters inside Camp Crame tightened overnight following the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/19/bong-revilla-surrenders-amid-arrest-warrant-over-ghost-flood-control-project-2208">voluntary surrender</a> of former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. on Monday evening, January 19.Police set up barricades at the building’s entrance to prevent unauthorized entry, while motorized patrol units of the PNP conducted continuous rounds within the vicinity of the CIDG building.In a statement released on Facebook, the PNP confirmed that the former senator voluntarily surrendered at the National Headquarters in Camp Crame. Revilla arrived accompanied by his wife and children.Upon his arrival, CIDG personnel immediately served the warrant of arrest issued against him.<div><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XgyI2Tre7yU?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe> </div>Authorities confirmed that the warrant was properly implemented and that Revilla was formally informed of the charges against him, as well as his constitutional rights.The former senator is currently under CIDG custody, where he underwent standard booking and documentation procedures, including a mandatory medical examination, in accordance with established protocols.The Sandiganbayan Third Division earlier released <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/19/sandiganbayan-releases-arrest-warrants-for-revilla-6-dpwh-bulacan-officials-1838">arrest warrants</a> and hold departure orders against Revilla and six DPWH Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office accused in a malversation case over a ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.According to the prosecution, the respondents allegedly conspired to facilitate the release of P76 million for the construction of a P92.8 million flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan, which was declared completed but never implemented based on inspection and witness accounts.The respondents were found to have falsified accomplishment reports, issued fraudulent billing documents, and endorsed disbursement vouchers. Revilla, who was previously acquitted of plunder charges in relation to the alleged misuse of his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), was tagged in the flood control mess after former DPWH Usec. Roberto Bernardo made allegations that he received kickbacks in exchange for endorsing flood control projects.
