Domingo/Senate PRIB/File</em></span></span></span>MANILA — Dozens of supporters of ex-senator Ramon &quot;Bong&quot; Revilla Jr. on Friday gathered outside the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan in Quezon City as he faced <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/23/bong-revilla-arraignment-0842">arraignment</a> over charges linked to the flood control scandal.</div><p>Coming from Cavite, Revilla’s home province, the supporters said they were unpaid and came on their own resources to show love for the longtime movie star-politician.</p><p>They waited outside the court gates, enduring the heat and a lack of water supply.</p><p>They said their show of support was a way of expressing gratitude for how the Revilla family supposedly helped them through medication, employment, and other assistance.</p><p>&quot;Kung meron man siyang nagawa, pero itinutulong niya sa mga tao,&quot; said an emotional Virginia Torio as she shouted her support for Revilla.</p><p>&quot;Nobody po ako, isa lang po akong tagalinis ng kalye. Binigyan niya kami ng pagkakataon na magkaroon ng trabaho sa kanilang botika ng bayan,&quot; said another supporter who refused to be identified.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/23/bong-revilla-arraignment-0842">Bong Revilla arraignment rescheduled</a></div><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F812931438469916%2F&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=560&amp;t=0" width="560" height="429" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>ANOTHER DETENTION STINT</strong></div><div> </div><p>Revilla, 59, is facing another detention stint — this time for a non-bailable malversation case over the P92.8-million ghost flood control project in Bulacan. He is also facing graft charges, for which he posted P90,000 bail.</p><p>He was detained Tuesday along with six former officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways’ Bulacan First District Engineering Office.</p><p>The Office of the Ombudsman, which filed the malversation and graft cases on January 16, said the respondents allegedly connived to divert P76 million in project funds for a flood control project that was never implemented despite being declared completed. </p><p>Revilla has denied the accusation, which he said he would face &quot;head on&quot;. </p><p>The ex-lawmaker was previously detained for four years starting in 2014 in connection with the multi-billion-peso pork barrel scam before being acquitted of plunder in 2018.</p><div> </div><div><strong>NOT CONVINCED</strong></div><div> </div><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1832873617228799%2F&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=560&amp;t=0" width="560" height="429" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>Some supporters said they believed Revilla could not have been involved in corruption.</p><p>&quot;Hindi naman sila magnanakaw, may kaya naman sila, mayaman naman sila,&quot; said one supporter who declined to give her name.</p><p>&quot;Ang aming senador, wala po siyang kasalanan.
