Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/File</div>MANILA — Cavite 4th District Representative Kiko Barzaga may face another ethics complaint over his “sweeping and unsubstantiated” allegations against National Unity Party congressmen, according to Negros Occidental 4th District Representative and NUP member Jeffrey Ferrer.In a privilege speech during House plenary session on Monday, Ferrer tagged as “false” and “baseless” Barzaga’s social media post accusing NUP Congressmen of receiving “bribe” from businessman Enrique Razon prior to the 2025 elections in exchange for supporting former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.“Ang mga paratang na sinasabing may bribery at illegal na transaksyon kaugnay sa Speakership election ay walang basehan, walang ebidensya at lubhang paninira lamang. These are not merely false statements, they are serious accusations that malign the character and integrity of public servants, and potentially undermine public trust in this institution,” Ferrer said.“The making of sweeping and unsubstantiated allegations against an entire bloc with the House of Representatives, coupled with statements that cast defamation on the acts of the institution itself… constitute conduct that tends to erode public confidence in the House. Such acts amount to violation of the House Rules on the code of conduct and Republic Act No. 6713, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, and may give rise to the filing of another ethics complaint,” he added.In December last year, the House of Representatives imposed a 60-day suspension on Barzaga after finding him “guilty of disorderly behavior,&quot; which stemmed from “reckless” and “inflammatory” social media posts.Barzaga is facing three cyber libel complaints filed separately by Razon,  and two congressmen from the NUP over his bribery allegation.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/21/barzaga-faces-third-cyberlibel-complaint-in-one-week-0941">READ: Barzaga faces third cyberlibel complaint in one week</a></div>
