Pero maaaring tumaas or bumaba pa ito kung isusumite na ang affidavit of damage or loss mula sa representative or management ng nasabing supermarket,” BFP spokesperson Fire Superintendent Anthony Arroyo said in an interview with state-run media PTV Friday, January 30.</p><p>The cause of the fire remains unknown, with the investigation still in progress.</p><p>No fatalities were recorded but one BFP personnel suffered injuries.</p><p>“Wala namang naulat na nasugatan maliban sa aming kasamahan na natamaan sa dibdib nung may mga sumasabog na mga content doon at ‘yung kanyang kanang dibdib ay nasugatan nga,” Arroyo noted.</p><div> </div><div><strong>LOOTING FROM ‘COLORUM’?</strong></div><div> </div><p>While the probe into a viral video showing individuals allegedly looting grocery items is being investigated, Arroyo said that the persons are neither from their ranks nor from legitimate fire volunteers.</p><p>“According sa nag-confess, hindi siya belong sa any volunteer group. Sila po ‘yung nagmo-motor lang na may suot na PPE at nakapasok doon sa sunog. Hindi sila affiliated sa anumang grupo kundi ay tawagin na lang natin sila parang ‘colorum’,” he stated.</p><p>Arroyo explained based on the fact-finding investigation, a representative from the supermarket’s management distributed refreshments and food packs as a &quot;gesture of gratitude&quot; and allegedly said that the goods affected by the fire had been rendered &quot;useless.&quot;</p><p>“Diumano, from marketing office, isa sa mga representative doon ay nagsalita na ang goods na apektado sa sunog ay already useless. So maaaring ‘yun ang nag-trigger, nag-led to the circulating video of alleged looting,” he said.</p><p>The investigating team has also been in touch with the person who took the video who is from a legitimate fire and rescue volunteer group.</p><p>“Kusa niyang ibinahagi ‘yung iba pang mga video sa investigation team at dagdag pa nga niya, may narinig rin siya na mula sa isang BFP personnel na diumano nagsabi ‘kumuha na kayo ng para sa inyo’.
