KJ Rosales, PPA Pool</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday ordered his Cabinet members to file biweekly reports on the progress of infrastructure projects in the country and warned them against submitting falsified data, Malacañang said. </p><p>Marcos gave the directive during his meeting with economic managers, a day after the Philippine economy posted its <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/1/29/philippines-gdp-fourth-quarter-2025-below-target-1012">slowest non-pandemic growth in 14 years.</a></p><p>“Ipag-uutos din ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang pagmo-monitor sa mga ahensiya at kanilang mga proyekto kada dalawang linggo para makita ang progress or progreso nito,” Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.</p><p>“Huwag ninyong subukang magbigay ng maling report,” she added, noting that the warning was addressed to all Cabinet members.</p><p>“Ang nais ng Pangulo moving forward at kailangan hindi lang basta move forward, kung hindi dapat na mas maging maayos ang pagri-report ng bawat ahensiya na may mga proyekto – iyan ang gusto po ng Pangulo,” she said.</p><p>Economic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said Thursday that the spiralling scandal over bogus infrastructure projects had weighed heavily on business and consumer confidence. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/1/29/marcos-jr-attributes-ph-s-growth-slump-to-climate-change-corruption-probe-1807">Marcos Jr. attributes PH&#x27;s growth slump to climate change, corruption probe</a></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/1/30/ph-heading-to-low-growth-era-no-longer-attractive-to-foreign-investors-economist-1201">PH heading to low-growth era, no longer attractive to foreign investors—economist</a></div><p>The Office of the President is crafting measures on how to sift through the infrastructure progress reports that will be submitted to the Palace, Castro said.</p><p>“Gagawin pa lang po yan. Napag-usapan pa lang po kanina yan,” she said.</p><p>“Ang sinabi niya, kapag nagkaroon ng report, ayaw niya po na dahil lang sa magkakaroon ng monitoring every two weeks ay maliin ang report o papogiin ang report so ayaw po ng Pangulo ng maling report,” she said.</p><p>“Mas maganda po talagang makita ito hindi lamang po ng mga investors kung hindi mismo ng mga kababayan natin para makapagbigay po sila ng kumpletong tiwala sa ating Pangulo at sa pamahalaan.”</p><p>The Palace said it has also yet to finalize a list of sanctions for officials who would deliberately tamper with these reports.</p><div><iframe width="725" height="408" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/o1IafyYV0qY" title="Typhoons, flood control scandal affect PH economic growth | ANC" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>
