Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/File</div>MANILA -- There is &quot;no basis&quot; to the claims that the 2026 national budget contains funding for an alleged impeachment bid against Vice President Sara Duterte, House Committee on Public Accounts Chairperson and Bicol Saro Party List Representative Terry Ridon said on Wednesday.Ridon said impeachment complaints are based on the &quot;quest for truth and accountability&quot;, and not on &quot;promised projects.&quot;&quot;Tingin ko walang batayan para sabihin na there are funds being made available to impeach the Vice President... Impeachment proceedings naman po are not based on projects that are promised. Impeachment proceedings are based on quests for truth and accountability, particularly on the use of confidential funds,&quot; he said.&quot;If House members or civil society would want to file it again as soon as the one-year ban is finished, I think they are free to do so. He said he is open to endorsing a fresh complaint, after the one-year ban lapses In February.He added that civil society groups are preparing to file a new impeachment complaint against Duterte in case the Supreme Court rules against the appeal to reverse its decision, nullifying the articles of impeachment filed against Duterte by the lower chamber before the Senate last February 5.For House Senior Deputy Minority Leader and Caloocan City 2nd District Representative Edgar Erice, if a new impeachment complaint will be filed against the Vice President, a complaint should also be filed against the President over questions on the budget.&quot;Kung gusto natin ng makatarungan, hindi lang &#x27;yung dahil kampi-kampihan sa politika, edi pareho na lang silang humarap sa impeachment court, pareho silang magpaliwanag doon sa mga akusasyon sa kanila.
