Zaldy Co were found to have “problems with documents,” the Bureau of Customs (BOC) chief said Thursday, adding that a warrant of seizure and detention will be issued for the cars.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/13/boc-ici-defend-search-seizure-of-luxury-vehicles-linked-to-zaldy-co-1716">BOC, ICI defend search, seizure of luxury vehicles linked to Zaldy Co</a></div><p>Speaking to reporters, BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said Co’s vehicles have issues with certificates of payment and import entries, similar to the earlier confiscated high-end vehicles of flood control contractors Sarah and Curlee Discaya.</p><p>The official said Co’s vehicles will also be auctioned.</p><p>“Hindi nila naipakita ‘yong mga tamang pinagbayaran, ‘yong mga tamang dokumento. Meaning, ‘yong mga certificate of payment, import entries — kagaya doon sa Discaya cars — meron ding problema,” Nepomuceno said.</p><p>The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group earlier reported it had seized Co’s 14 luxury vehicles at his condominium in Taguig City and two at a property in his home province of Albay. </p><p>Some of these cars are currently being kept at the headquarters of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) in Taguig.</p><p>Nepomuceno said the BOC is securing the vehicles along with the Philippine Coast Guard.</p><p>He added that Co’s vehicles will be auctioned off once the warrant of seizure and detention is fully implemented.</p><p>Co is a central figure in the controversy over alleged corruption in flood control projects.
