It does not preclude the PNP to proceed with their investigation and file the appropriate criminal charges based on other evidence. The Napolcom conducted a motu proprio investigation in this case, and we are not bound by the said Motion to Withdraw filed by the sister. The Napolcom will work in collaboration with the investigators of the PNP,” Calinisan stressed.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>TIMING OF CREMATION</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Mr. Mollenido’s legal counsel, Cristobal Rimando, said the withdrawal of the criminal complaint affirms the lack of evidence linking his client to the crime.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/3/dilg-chief-declares-mollenido-killing-case-solved-1117">PNP: Fake car deal behind killing of cop, 8-year-old son</a></div><p>While the camp has yet to receive a copy of the obstruction of justice complaint, Rimando stressed that the remains of the policewoman were turned over to Mr. Mollenido two days after the body was recovered on January 24, giving police officers sufficient time to process the victim.</p><p>“That means to say the police processed it for two days. They had the whole two days, and it was released to my client.
